Unfortunately, this event has been CANCELED due to illness and weather.
Come celebrate the New Year of Trees with a Tu B’Shevat hike in Little Big Econ State Forest! We’re partnering with the Central Florida Freethought Community (CFFC) to host a fun hike on the Econlockhatchee River Loop Trail, which is around 2.6 miles long and should take a bit more than an hour to hike. Enjoy nature, get to know fellow Secular and Humanistic Jews, and have fun!
This will be a fairly easy hike but will still have some sandy slopes and many roots and plants, and could possibly have some muddy places. The trail is mostly shady, but sun protection is still advised, as is bug protection. Long pants and sleeves can help protect from sun, bugs, and scratchy plants. Good shoes with a good grip are important. There will be no restrooms available.
Note that there is a $2 entrance fee for this trail, which can be paid here. As cell reception is spotty at the trail, it is recommended that you pay in advance. We will be meeting at the Barr Street trailhead.
You can RSVP on the Facebook event here. Or, if you are a member of the CFFC Meetup group, you can RSVP here.
